Pennsylvania iGaming revenue pushes past $558M in April 182n6x

Igaming continues to drive gambling revenue in the USA, with Pennsylvania being the latest state to see a surge in growth. April 2025 saw the state make a total gaming revenue of $558.7 million, which resulted in a 10.7% increase. 124r2o

Online casinos led PA’s record-breaking $558.7M gambling revenue in April.

Online slots and tables are fueling the growth 2f176p

iGaming was a major contributor to the PA economy with a total of $227.7 million in revenue, which is a 31.3% year-over-year surge.

Here’s a breakdown of these figures:

  • Online slots brought in a total of $169.5 million - up 34.5%,

  • Online table games reached a total of $55.9 million - up 24.2%,

  • However, online poker has seen a slight decline in figures. So, although it has generated $2.3 million, these figures are down by 2.8%

Top performing operators include:

  • Hollywood Casino at Penn National - $83.2 million

  • Valley Forge Casino - $66.7 million

  • Rivers Casino Philadelphia - $35.9 million

These results show just how much digital partnerships between casinos and online platforms continue to drive revenue within the iGaming industry.

Land-based revenue 4m3519

The more traditional brick-and-mortar casinos show a more mixed performance:

  • Retail slot revenue declined by 1.2% per year, with the current total standing at $203.1 million.

  • Parx Casino led the way with $31.4 million, with only a slight dip from last year’s revenue at 0.7%

  • On a positive note, retail table games rose by 2.7%, which increased their total to $80.6 million.

So, despite a huge digital growth, physical casinos still remain a key part of Pennsylvania's overall gaming revenue, even though they’re no longer the primary source of their total revenue.

The state of sport betting 4e1us

In the area of sports betting, it’s been pretty steady when it comes to revenue, staying at around $42.5 million, although slightly up just 0.3%. And with the total amount wagered rising quickly to $711.6 million, up 10.1%. This shows increasing consumer engagement in this particular segment.

The leading operators in sports betting are:

  • FanDuel - a total of $20.1 million.

  • DraftKings - $12.1 million

  • Bet365 and ESPN Bet also showed strong performances.

Who are the market leaders? 3q36v

Here are the operators who are rising fast and driving the most growth:

  • In overall revenue, Valley Forge Casino led the way with $99.1 million.

  • So did Hollywood Casino with a total of $97.7 million.

Among the fastest-growing operators:

  • Presque Isle Downs is one of the fastest-growing operators, with a 55% growth

  • Golden Nugget has also seen a sharp surge in revenue of 116%

The strong results of these diverse mix of physical casino locations with online operators demonstrates that the popularity of digital platforms doesn’t necessarily mean that there isn’t a market for traditional casino buildings, it just means that brands may need to adapt to keep up with the changes in times and demands of customers living in the digital age.

An East coast iGaming renaissance 3pi3n

Pennsylvania’s performance has mirrored recent trends in New Jersey, where iGaming has also seen major surges in revenue growth. This momentum could signal a trend in U.S. gambling where online growth can work well with land-based gaming, and not against it.

Predicting this trend and increased gambling revenue in the US, the CEO of Flutter, Peter Jackson, said back in March;

We're a growth business. I think that even in the face of these sort of macro and global challenges, the business will continue to progress.

Tax contribution and policy implications x5es

April’s gambling activity generated a total of $234.5 million in tax revenue, with digital gambling contributing to a significant share. Here’s an exact breakdown:

  • iGaming tax - $100.8 million

  • Slot machine tax - $102.8 million

  • Sports betting tax - $15.3 million

  • Table games tax - $13.5 million

Will digital dominance last? 6o5d1d

With record-breaking results like these contributing the the growth of the iGaming industry, Pennsylvania has positioned itself as the perfect model for modern gambling.
